I don't see any projects in the Projects dropdownThis can occur because of several reasons. We'll only be covering the most common of them here, which are:
Chronicle has not been restarted after a settings changeAfter changing certain settings in Chronicle, you must restart it to cause Chronicle to attempt to reconnect. These are Token, and API URL. A future release will either correct or document this requirement. API URL is incorrectThere is a known issue which we intend to correct in a future patch in which the URL provided by activeCollab in your Profile is not actually compatible with Chronicle. When entering your activeCollab API URL into Chronicle's settings, you should not include the "api.php" part of the URL. This means that if activeCollab provides your API URL as http://www.example.org/activecollab/api.php, you would simply enter http://www.example.org/activecollab. Make sure that there are no extra spaces on the beginning or end of the URL. API token is incorrectThere is a known issue which we intend to correct in a future patch in which tokens with extra spaces on the end are not trimmed to remove the spaces, and activeCollab rejects the token. Please check and make sure that your token does not have extra spaces on the beginning or end in Chronicle settings. API Access not enabled or is Read OnlyChronicle requires the activeCollab API to be enabled and in read/write mode. For more information on how to enable your API and place it in read/write mode, refer to the activeCollab knowledgebase. Minimum requirements for Chronicle not metThe minimum requirements for Chronicle are Windows XP or higher, and the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. We do not set hardware requirements. Chronicle will not work on Windows 2000 or lower, and will not work in Mono on Linux or Mac OS X if you use a proxy (however, we can't guarantee it will work even if you don't use a proxy). A native Mac OS X version is in development. You are using an old version of ChronicleWe identified and corrected an issue in version 1.0.12 where Chronicle may have been unable under some circumstances to determine your activeCollab user ID. As this is a required function to communicate with activeCollab, the project list could not be retrieved. The issue appeared to be related to inconsistencies in the return data between some installs of activeCollab. Versions older than v1.0.12 may continue to experience this issue. If you are using an older version, please update to the latest version. An HTTP error has occurredAn HTTP error is where Chronicle managed to communicate with your server, but either activeCollab or your web server sent back an error. Note that in this Chronicle version, an authentication prompt will result in an error. If your activeCollab install is set to require authentication, you will need to disable it for at least api.php if you want to use Chronicle. Other errors are the result of a server misconfiguration or problem with your activeCollab token, except for 500, which means that activeCollab or your server crashed. Fusion Digital can help you diagnose what has occurred, but are not able to assist with resolving HTTP errors. You should contact your network administrator. Unable to reach the activeCollab serverThis is most likely due to a firewall, or a mistaken URL. Check your URL carefully, and if you continue to experience problems contact your network administrator. There are no active projectsChronicle's project list will only display active projects. Archived, On Hold, etc, projects will not be shown, in order to keep the project list to a reasonable size. Please confirm that the status is "Active" for the projects you want to work on with Chronicle. None of these solves my problem! If none of these solve your problem, feel free to contact us using the "Contact" page at http://getchronicle.com/Contact. Please do let us know you've gone through the steps in this troubleshooter so we don't ask you to go through them again. Updated Thursday September 10, 2009 @ 16:32 NZST | |
